Foo Fighters Play A Pizza Parlor (Video)

The Foo Fighters played a pizza parlor. Listen, man. You might be a cool guy. You might know some cool guys. You're not Dave Grohl cool. If there were a cool guy monarchy system in place he'd wear a crown and wield a jewel encrusted staff. He'd be a totally awesome king too.

The band played a FULL set- 23 songs- which would appear to be in preparation for their upcoming Mexico City gig. Regardless of the reason it's so damn cool. I think the thing that makes Dave (I call him by his first name because we're pretty amazingly great friends) so cool is his obvious LOVE of music and his love for what he does. He seems to appreciate it and revel in it. You see so many guys in his position get to be kind of jaded and joyless (that's TOTALLY how I'd be...I hope to be someday), he legitimately seems to love what he does AND he's GREAT at it. I can tell you that I would be personally crushed if he turned out to be anything but the most awesome guy ever.

I may be in love with him.

Metallica’s Freeze ‘Em All Gig Posted (Video)

Full video of what Metallica frontman (pronounced frontmun) James Hetfield calls the  "the most memorable concert in Metallica history" is placed above these words here. As with anything Metallica does, people will bash it. It's just become a thing people do. A BORING, TIRED thing people do. If your band could play Antarctica why wouldn't you? Sure, your band may not generate the buzz Metallica generates but you could rock that little (seemingly pointless) dome. I know you could.

Why is the dome there? It looks like a jungle gym. Is it a jungle gym? That makes it even cooler!

"Hey guys. Do you want to play Seek & Destroy inside a jungle gym in Antarctica?" See? How could they say no?

The only sad thing about this video is the poor varmint whose tail was removed so the reporter could imbibe it with some sort of voodoo magic to turn it into a microphone. Why didn't someone tell her about regular microphones??!!! Poor tailless Antarctican varmint.

Metallica is/are now back in California set to work on their new record.

Billie Jo Armstrong Says Green Day Is Taking Some Time Off (Audio)

I've mentioned on several occasions my fondness for the Billie Joe Armstrong/ Norah Jones record, 'Foreverly' which came out two weeks ago. After spending some time with it, I dig it even more. Give it a whirl. I've kind of become a stalker of this record. I've been listening to it a lot. If it were a person I think we'd be common law married OR it would file some sort of restraining order.

The audio above is a pretty cool interview with both Billie Joe and Norah from the BBC.. I've altered my voice to sound like a British lady.

New Music Tuesday On A Wednesday 11-20-13

NEW Music releases are virtually non-existent this time of year so I may not be doing many of these betwixt now and early 2014. There are a couple I want to highlight though. Are you putting together a list of your favorites from 2013? I am. If you are, I'd love to see yours. Yours being your list. Pervo.

Here are some records worth exploring for the week of 11-19-13:

Virgin / Universal Records

Virgin / Universal Records

A Perfect Circle 'Three Sixty'

So I MAY have posted something about not liking greatest hits records. I still don't but at least this one has some cool stuff on it. You definitely want to go with the 'Deluxe' version. If you buy the deluxe version, Maynard will come to your house and get you all hooched up on wine and you guys will watch the new Puscifer DVD together. That alone is worth it. You also get a few extra tracks AND a black cover instead of a white one. I don't know. I still wouldn't buy this but they are all fantastic songs. In more APC news, Stone & Echo the live collection recorded at Red Rocks (the world's greatest venue) will be released next week. You can stream it now at Consequence Of Sound.

Century Media Records

Century Media Records

Insomnium 'Ephemeral'

I mention this EP not so much because I love the EP but because I love the band. This EP has 4 tracks on it but it feels like one song with some (albeit cool) instrumental stuff. Technically there are four songs though. Technically. Check out their 2006 release 'Above The Weeping World' to see how cool this band really is.

Tee Pee Records

Tee Pee Records

Harsh Toke 'Light Up And Live'

I had never heard of this band before yesterday but when I saw they were on the ALWAYS righteous Tee Pee Records I knew they were worth a listen. You can count on Tee Pee records man. Such a cool label. Anyway, this band is jamtastic. There are 4 tracks here as well but the disc still clocks in at around 40 minutes. Check these guys and check some of the other artists on Tee Pee Records. Do it for you.

Loma Vista Records

Loma Vista Records

Ghost B.C. "If You Have Ghost"

I've written extensively on Ghost. I always suggest listening to their "Opus Eponymous" record if you're new to the band but this Dave Grohl produced covers EP is cool and if you're going to release a cash grabby record for the holiday season I prefer this to a greatest hits record any day. Also if anyone in the Ghost organization is reading this, I'd like to be a Nameless Ghoul. Say when and I'll be there.

And that's it. That's the list. I always want to know what you're listening to. Tell me here.

A Piece Of Puscifer (Video)

Maynard James Reginald Lorenzo Keenan's band Puscifer will be releasing a DVD/Blu Ray/Laser Disc/VHS called 'What Is...' on November 26th. It's being called a mockumentary/concert film and feature comedy skits. Man, do I love comedy skits. He's a really funny guy and I will never not love the fact that he'll call his fans idiots when his fans are idiots. You have to like that. This clip is a little something they like to call, 'Toma'. Toma is Latin for Toma. If I'm not mistaken.

Soundgarden SubPop Stream (Audio)

The fantastic Sub Pop Records is streaming the re-issue of Soundgarden's very first releases at Soundcloud. The re-issues, including their debut EP Screaming Life and bonus tracks from their second EP, Fopp will be released on November 26th. They sound INCREDIBLE. If you're a fan, this is must have stuff, ma man. Chris Cornell sings so much better than I do. No, Seriously. WAY better.

In related news, Soundgarden/Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron has announced he will not be on Soundgarden's 2014 live gigs due to his commitments with his 3rd band, One Direction. Dude is busy.
